Engineering Design and Liability
The design and construction of storm sewers is an important area of engineering and like all engineering projects many decisions must be made. Pipe material selection with the development of appropriate project specifications places a great deal of potential liability on the consulting engineer. If the particular pipe material selected does not perform as intended, the consulting engineer may be held liable for specifying a pipe material inappropriate for the intended application.
