Making the right decisions and implementing them well is almost always the difference between succeeding and failing. You will make bad decisions—everyone does. It’s what we do after that is important! Human beings have free thinking and free-will, you cannot force someone to do something they do not want to do. Employers cannot make employees work safely or make the right decisions. An employer can provide information and training, and it can insist and expect its employees to follow safety protocols, but it is up to you, the employee, to make the decision. You must make the decision to follow company procedures. You must make the decision to think before you act. You must make the decision to look after yourself and your co-workers. And you must make the decision to help better your company‘s safety program and safety culture.
